10.5 Hydraulic actuator with spring (to close)

1. Place the actuator with yoke on the valve and tighten screws.
2. Reconnect hydraulic hoses if disconnected and deaerate system.
3. Open hydraulic supply and prepare for valve control.
4. Stroke the valve to fully closed position by placing an object between the stems while closing the
valve with the actuator.
NOTE! Eliminate risk of personal injuries. Use a flat object with a shaft for this operation (and
wood to avoid damaging stems).

5. Stroke the actuator to the top position.

6. Measure the maximum distance gap between the stems.
7. Adjust the correct installation gap between the stems.
NOTE! Installation gap = max. distance – stroke distance

Example: Max distance = 92 mm

Stroke distance = 84 mm
Installation gap = 92 – 84 = 8 mm
In most cases 3 mm preload is applicable

8. Assemble the coupling between the stems.

9. Assemble the rotation stop.

NOTE! Make sure the coupling is properly fitted and aligned with the stems.

10. Verify the stroke.
