>Twas the night before Sanguinala, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a armadillo;

>The lasguns were hung by the plasma coils with care,

In hopes that the Dragon soon would not be there;

>The conscripts were hidden all uncomfortable in their rags;

While visions of bloodsheds danced in their heads;

>And Sarge in her flak, and I in my cap,

Had just settled our brains for a long winter's guard,

>When out on the landing pad there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my post to see what was the matter.

>Away to the hangar I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

>The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,

Gave a lustre of midday to objects below,

>When what to my wondering eyes did appear,

But a miniature speeder and eight tiny gheist,

>With a grim old driver so terrible and quick,

I knew in a moment he must be St. Lugosi

>More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

>"Now, Terror! now, Shadow! now Furious and Dagon!

On, Corpse! on, Mephisto! on, Doom and Blitz!
To the top of the pod! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

>As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;

>So up to the factorytop the coursers they flew

With the speeder full of corpses, and St. Lugosi too—

>And then, in a roar, I heard on the roof

The scratching of each claw.

>As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the coils St. Lugosi came with a bound.

>He was dressed all in black, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of corpses he had flung on his back,
THE SONS OF THE DRAGON
current chapter master St. Lugosi
>The Sons of the Dragon represent self
cannibalization, delusion, & manic depressive
episodes
>it can be said the Sons of the Dragon are like the
fabled vampire of ancient Terran legend

>Chapter was founded for Strategic Prognostication

>It was founded in the M38, Sentinel Founding
>They are successors of Blood Angels
>Their Geneseed is flawed
>They have lost their Catalepsean Node so they have to sleep in sensory deprivation stone
coffins
>Their Chapter Demeanor is Swift as the Wind
>Their Chapter Flaw is We Stand Alone
>They abduct children as their recruitment method
>The figure of legend was a Chapter Master of another successor chapter who's gene seed
would be used for them
>The Chapter Master led his people through many glorious campaigns, slaying hundreds of
the enemies' greatest champions. In the end, he was brought down by a Hellsinger Daemon
Prince and is a reminder to all Battle-Brothers of their holy duty.
>The chapter's homeworld is a Feudal Ice planet
>They maintain a distant rule of the planet Gelumors
>They are a divergent chapter
>Their combat doctrine is stealth
>Their training is Shatter the Foe, strike hard and fast
>The chapter has beastial companions: Gheists, Bat-like creatures that grow from larvae
and live in the icy caves of their planet used primarily for scouting, larger variants of these
creatures may have different uses, some suspect that these creatures may have been
influenced or even created by the Warp itself.
>The reverence of Sanguinius, a cult of immortality and the embracing of the red thirst and
the black rage are central parts of their ideology
>The chapter is understrength, isolation and constant attrition with xenos and chaos
probably is the reason.
>They refer to their chapter master as Voivode.
>They are allied with a Planetary Defense Force, the Denkite Honour guard
>they exchange soldiers from time to time
>Their most hated enemy is a Daemon Prince and his followers, the Hellsingers
> They don’t have a weakness to daylight, but their rigid sleep schedule and preference for
stealth makes them deadlier in night attacks
>like a swarm of bats they attack their enemies without mercy with the battlefield strewn
with the impaled corpses of their foes
> their chapter master is usually a psyker or close to one
> They have dreams that sometimes gives them premonitions when in slumber, their
librarians act as guides and clarify these visions
>sometimes they will have nightmares, if they are strong enough this may induce the black
rage
>A lot of the black company is put in dreadnoughts sarcophagus waiting in slumber for
activation
>fully embrace & half decently manage their sick natures & off-color dangerous habits.
>they fully fulfill their purpose as marines: war & murder of the emperors enemies
>they fail to fulfill the rest of their duties, unwritten & otherwise
>those of proper fraternity, honoring the emperor, renouncing mutation, & even honoring
sanguinius (a claim they will particularly take offense to, since they honor the primarch
above all else, he is really the focus of their rituals: trying to understand his last
gift/message, hidden to them by the veil of their own meager existence, causing them to fail
to properly understand the black rage he has given them. In their mind at least).
>they aren’t self stylized beasts: they are outright noble monsters. Both beautiful and terrible.
As their primarch was.

>they delve into his bestial aspects too readily, against all the other common held beliefs &
practices of the imperium at large, especially their own cousins and fellow sons of
sanguinius. Flesh tearers included would be appalled at their fetishization of the red thirst &
even the black rage. As the sons of the dragon have no lives outside of them anymore, even
their dreams are haunted with nothing but their pervasive obsession with their gene-sires'
blessings/flaws.
>Death company dreadnoughts are equipped with retractable mandibulas, that allow them to
satiate their thirst for blood even in death.
>The Exsanguinator is both a sophisticated medical device and close quarters weapon, used
by Sanguinary Priests to harvest the gene-seed of fallen comrades.
>When a Battle-Brother falls in combat, it is the duty of the Sanguinary Priests to either
restore him or safeguard his genetic heritage for future Battle-Brothers, storing it away in the
Exsanguinator.
>Mephiston is probably held EXTREMELY high regard by the Dragons, as they too wish to
master the black rage & fully understand their blessings from beyond.
>Pauldrons don't have chapter symbols, as of they've got functional rather than aesthetic
value as handholds for being carried into battle by the chapter's giant bat monsters

>initiates are sent in squads, unarmed and under-equipped to the frigid mountains up north
>their objective, to find a cave of the most dangerous creature of the Planet
>After finding the cave the squads that survived this perilous journey need to infiltrate and
extract a larvae
>Many tactics can be deployed to accomplish this, even attacking another squad to steal
their larvae
>IF the squad comes back with a Larvae alive it will grow to become the squad's companion
>This dangerous and strict training method instills the chapter's culture of isolation, brutal
Survivalism and stealth

>They evolved to hunt planet Gelomur’s giant armadillos Mandibles to restrain their prey and
enormous fangs to punch through their exoskeletal armor to allow the proboscis access to
the meat, where it regurgitates digestive juices then sucks up the resulting slurry.
>Works just as well on power-armored enemies which explains the Sons of the Dragon
looking at these monstrosities and thinking "let's domesticate 'em".

>all death company battle brothers spend most of their time in torpor, housed in specially
sealed vehicles, closed off from the outside world (probably ritually lined with the gore of
their black companies)
>in this restless yet still slumber, they ponder & master the red thirst, while battling with their
inevitable embrace by the black rage
>perhaps this long rest is as much for study as to stave off the black rage, so that they may
prepare themselves better for its embrace, in this the “realm of rage”, their dreams,
conversing with the blood of sanguinius within, & maybe even further visions from
sanguinius himself, as well as another darker figure: the Black Angel they know as the
Dragon, through which said blood they commune in spellbound pondering, only to be woken
by war.
>this could side step the black rage in other ways too: by not pondering battles on their eve,
instead being awoken in the midst of battle, they may actually increase or decrease the
chance of the black rage embracing them (could go either way, irrelevant of what the Sons of
the Dragon actually believe).
>also, by constantly dreaming of approaching battles &/or their dead Primarch, they may be
“the hulk” chapter of the blood angels: always raging, & so have “better” mastery of their
more intimately familiar/embraced flaws.

CHAPTER STORY
>In 534.M38, Brother Captain Brahm of the blood angels was put in charge of creating a
new chapter based on revelations that convinced the high lords of Terra to do so, marking
their founding as one of the latest of the 23rd founding.

>The chapter mission was to guard the stranded system of Pruina-Modere in the eastern
fringes of the Ultima segmentum and hunt for traitors and stop any potential expansions of
ork waaagh

>during the 9th black crusade a small strike fleet of the Sons of the Dragon is sent to partake
in the Battle Group formed by the ultramarines

>Chapter Master Brahm leads his brothers in many hunts for warbands separated from the
main black legion fleet gaining renown for the chapter

>611.M38 a relatively close-by system is attacked by a gigantic Waaagh, no imperial aid is

sent and the Hell Ravens chapter is declared lost alongside their homeworld
>during the same period teh Sons of the Dragon had their first enduring battle against a tau
fleet, protecting the planet of Denkite from invasions and forming the first pact between the
chapter and the planet's nobles

>635-640.M38 the Sons of the Dragon begin the pursuit for the Hellsingers, an warband
responsible for multiple raids, assassinations and plunders in the eastern fringes

>640.M38 Chapter Master Brahm and his honor guard are ambushed and killed by a
Hellsinger kill team lead by an unknown Daemon Prince during a large operation against the
Hellsingers, the outcome of this skirmish is not clear to this day

>The sons of the Dragon create a inner circle, with the mission of organizing and leading
hunts of renegade chapters, specially the Hellsingers and other chaos or rebellious
threats/uprisings

>770-791.M38 a strike cruiser of the SoD's is secretly sent to partake in the Great
Malagantine purge

>920.M38 Chief Librarian Vrajitor Mags domesticate the first Terror Gheist while stranded in
the northeastern plateu

>925.M38 the Dragons send the 1st Scout-Gheist aided tactical marine unit to Crush
peasant revolt around the capital city of Gelumors, proving the viability of the use of the
smaller variations of these creatures as recons in fast strike tactics

>the SoD's indulge in their reclusiveness and "specialize" in trying to send at least one strike
cruiser to conflicts involving traitors, fending off some xenos, hunting heretics independently
etc.

>they help in the war for baal etc.

>Now, they continue to be an important bastion of the most eastern fringe of the Ultima
Segmentum, and because of the riches of their system, they received a reasonable amount
of greyshilds to strengthen their numbers
GELUMORS

Dragons and other augmented personnel don't care about this issue though. the atmosphere
has an iron like, metallic, scent
>climate:Chilly Cold (-200°C to -101°C) Remember the oceans and moistness? it's all
frozen. even with the extreme 80°C temperature variation, most of the planet is definitely
frozen during most part of the year

terrains
>active volcanoes
If you ever get lost in the middle of one of the barren frozen seas of Gelomurs, before certain
death arrives, it's possible that you will find islands of dark rock and elevated rivers of
magma, this striking contrast is the image of this planet's extreme environments. These
mountainous ranges of volcanoes in the middle of the frozen seas are an oasis to a wide
range of reptilian creatures, birds and insects.
The biggest island is, of course, the Red Mountains in the north of the Eastern Sea being
about 15.800 square meters

>caves
The enormous icy caves of Gelomurs are home to the apex predators of the planet, Gheists,
in these caves, the creatures create sprawling hives that sometimes connects multiple caves
creating a complex system of underground tunnels and rivers.

besides the Gheists and their hives, some warmer caves are home to fauna and flora that
can't resist the harsh climate of the surface

>plateaus
cold tundra plateau, were cave formations are plenty

>grasslands
centered in the tropics and "warmer' areas, the most habitable zone of the planet
>tech level: Steel Age
> The use of iron has evolved into the manufacture of alloys to make steel for weapons,
Armour and tools. Farming*(1) and trade are ways of life for most people, and civilization has
started to gather in fortified villages and towns. The ruling classes live in large stone castles.
Communication networks of couriers and carrier animals*(2) are common.

*(1) because of the harsh climate, the most fit areas for farming located in the tropics of
Gelumors are also the most populated, and even with the more appropriate climate of these
regions a lot of traditional Techniques and specific agricultural goods were created to
increase the productivity of the farmlands

*(2)The fauna of Gelomors is definitely diverse for it's cold climate, from reptilians bipeds that
inhabit cold and wet swamps, a variety of bat like species of Gheists to large armadillos
(unnamed yet), which some sub-species were domesticated by the populous throughout the
planet's development, used as livestock, transport and other productions, this world is home
to many weird and alien species

> society:Oligarchy, since this is a feudal world, Gelumors is actually governed locally by
counts and dukes of their own territories and act more or less independently from the rest,
most times, they even have their own small military organizations, sometimes, maybe they
even have some knights around, who knows. The Voivode and his inner council are
responsible for overseeing the local authorities and organizing mass military operations.
>economy exports: Alcohol
>in true feudal fashion, most agricultural good, livestock inputs and other goods are bartered
among cities and villages internally, the exception to this rule is the alcohol production, an
especial variety of grape was created here, known for their alcoholic potential some of the
wines produced with it are said to be able to make even an space marine slightly drunk.
>these wines are considered a local luxury and are rarely available to peasants who drink a
cheap, weaker and less pure version of it

thermal heating atop beds of charcoal like substances. These humans are rebellious troglodytes,
exiled bandits who bare the mark of the hellsingers influence.
>away in the worlds furthest peaks, above the suffocating volcanic clouds which consume and
smother all other wholesome life on the planet: reside the feudal kingdoms and their keeps.

>cooperation of every local space marine chapter is necessary to maintain order within the imperium nihilus

the communication issue

> Their blesses are Unsound Mind, the mind of the vessel of this blessing is so broken that

espionage and deception, perfectioning their plans until they turn crazy.
>extremely orthodox armor to slaanesh standards
>lot’s of disguising and dark colors
>They're so sneaky the Sons of the Dragon and Inquisition haven't been able to find out the
name of their leader.
>The actual leader fought the Sons of the Dragon original chapter master to a mutual kill, the
Hellsingers are currently led by a bunch of charismatic delusionals pretending they're acting
in the name of a daemon prince.
>From time to time a new Hellsinger ascends to daemon-hood and acts in the unknown
name of their fallen hero, since they don't have a official leadership and like to act
independently, sometimes, multiple small cohorts of Hellsingers go around doing that (even
the ones who aren't demons) .
> The Sons of the Dragon obsession is a waste of time, luckily they have a special division
for that pursuit so not all of them are actively looking for their (dead) arch enemy.
>The Hellsingers take all the obsession and overindulgence that Emperor's Children
normally put into hot-pink-and-acid-green armor and redirect it into stupid tacticool
/k/omandoing. Black armor. Enough ghillie cloth to make them look like mummies. Helmets
consisted of night vision gear with multiple lenses, each with a mutated eyeball behind them.
Adding laser sights and scopes to every ranged weapon they get their grubby little mitts on
regardless of practicality. Chain and power versions of ridiculous mall ninja melee weapons.
>Before the fall, the Hellsingers, at the time known as Hell Ravens, were a Raven Guard
successor chapter specialized in infiltration and espionage, destroying revolts and chaos
congregations from inside out, when a xenos invasion struck their planet they were not able
to fight directly against them. After the Imperium, and most importantly, the Raptors (the
chapter that they most admired) ignored their calls for help, they turned to the Dark God of
excess.
>Now, they delight in their plans, perfecting them to the point of absolute madness and
excessive details, much like the Demon Primarch Fulgrim, they relish in creating grandiose
and theatrical scenarios for the execution of their targets, never forgetting their perfectionist
and endless "upgrade" of their "tactical" equipment
