What is your role or contribution in our country’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
(DRRM) Plan?
Student’s Answer:

Our country, the Philippines, is located at the Pacific Ring of Fire. The Pacific Ring of Fire is a group of
countries in the Pacific that has very active volcanoes. The Philippines has a couple of active volcanoes,
like the Mayon volcano, the Pinatubo, and the Taal volcano. Because of this, our country is included int he
Pacific Ring of Fire. Since our country always has the risk of a volcano explosion, which is always
accompanied by an earthquake, learning about our country’s DRRM plan.

As a student, my current role is to be always prepared for any emergency and should be willing to lend a
helping hand to assist people who needs help. If possible, we should attend training or seminars related to
disaster risk reduction, and learn first-aid. In case of an earthquake, we should be bale to know what to do
before, during, and after an earthquake. We should be knowledgeable on what to do, be alert, be
prepared, and always help others that are in need.
