Music In You

Funnily enough, for this assignment, my highest score from the multiple intelligences
test was the musical intelligence (4.86/5). I have been studying music for 8 years now,
and play multiple instruments, so this did not surprise me at all. I do use rhymes and
songs to remember information, to this day I still think of “Mode, Mode, Mode’s the
most, Average is the mean. Median, Median, Median is the number in-between” to
Row, Row, Row Your Boat in my math classes. I also work with music playing in the
background, as the test described. My next highest scores are Spatial (3.29) and
Language (3.14). I do dabble a little bit in art and I also love to read and write.
Surprisingly, though, I did struggle a little bit with this assignment! Despite musical
intelligence being my highest score, I did have trouble coming up with lyrics. Counting
the syllables and keeping the tempo was easy enough for me though.

Standard 1.6.d: Students publish or present content that customizes the message and
medium for their intended audiences.

Like many assignments in this class, this project is very versatile. This would be an
excellent project for an elementary school music specialist. It might be harder for
younger students to come up with their own lyrics though. For younger students, I
would pick one song and have the students write lyrics just to that one song, so we
could go over the syllables as a class. For older students, I could see them being able
to come up with something on their own. This might be a fun assignment for older
students before final exams. Having students come up with their own songs to
remember study materials such as math equations or historical dates would be a
much more exciting way to have them study, and maybe incentivize it by making it
worth a few points.
