11.1.2 Threads
Clean, examine and grease all threads. Change damaged insert threads. Contact CCI for information
regarding no replaceable damaged threads.

11.1.3 Crack detection

 Perform fluid penetrant test (PT) on entire interior (as far as possible).
 In case small thin cracks (thermo shock cracks) are observed, remove them by grinding. Recheck
with fluid penetrant test.

NOTE! If seal weld cracks are observed, please contact CCI Field Service.

 Where small impressions in the seat sealing surface (resulting from clamped-in foreign particles)
are observed, remove by lapping with cast iron disc.

11.1.4 Erosion damages inside the valve

Erosion damages shall not occur inside the valve during normal service. However, if by mistake, wrong
process conditions do occur, this can cause erosion damages on the valve internal parts and the body. It
could be that the inlet steam to the valve contains free water, resulting in erosion. Therefore, carefully
check the inside of the valve for potential damage caused by free water in the steam.
