Marketing Metrics Breakout Session Task

Bharath, co-founder of Verb Studio, dreams of scaling up his dance start-up to allow learners across the
world to access dance lessons related to a variety of forms, from a rich array of instructors. In the
immediate future, he plans to raise capital to help realize his vision; he has been talking to venture
capital firms in this regard.

In this breakout session, your aim is to identify metrics that Bharath should track. To enable a
common platform for class discussion, each group should identify the following for Verb Studio.

1. Goals: Think of sub-heads that will be of interest to Bharath in realizing his vision. In enlisting
goals, keep in mind Verb’s fund-raising efforts and the interest of investors.
2. Metrics: Under each sub-head or goals listed above, what specific metrics should Bharath track.
In identifying these metrics, you can use the ones listed in ‘Marketing Metrics Note.’ Feel free to
suggest additional metrics that you think are relevant but may not be listed in the note.
3. Remarks: For each metric you identified, discuss in your group the definition of the metric, ease
of use, data source, who should be responsible for the metric within the organization.

Please see attached document “Verb Story” for a glimpse into their journey. Try to identify at least two
goals, and 3 metrics under each goal, not already listed in their story. Feel free to visit their website to
