IMPORTANCE OF ADMINISTERING MEDICATION IN A RIGHT WAY

Discuss about the importance of administering medication in a right way, by the right
route and its effects on the patient´s health impact.

Medicines are chemical compounds that are used to cure, stop or prevent diseases; to relieve
symptoms; or to help diagnose some diseases. Advances in medicine have made it possible for doctors to
cure many diseases and save many lives.

Ensuring medications are administered safely and accurately is the cornerstone of safe healthcare. Errors
in medication administration can worsen the patient's health status and in more serious cases cause death.
Prescription medication is often strong enough to seriously harm a patient when administered to the
wrong patient at the wrong dose. The wrong medication can also lead to complications and suffering
because it could cause side effects without treating the condition or disease that the patient has.  That is
why it is very important to be careful when we prescribe and administer any medication.
