EXPLANATION

Question for you: Consider two situations, one in which

an object of mass M is on the Earth and second in which

the same object of mass M is on the moon. Will the mass

and weight of the object be the same at both places?

Answer: NO, mass and weight will not be the same at

both places. Weight will change, but the mass of an

object will stay the same.

Reason: The amount of matter (mass) present in the

object is not changing, no matter where it is present.
