Common Parking Stall Layout
Parking Lot Flows
General Guidelines for Parking

Parking garage stalls should be well-marked and use clear signage

to direct drivers, especially in one-way traffic situations.

Pavement striping should be 4” (102)wide in white or yellow paint

Parking area surfaces should have a minimum slope of 2 percent for

drainage purposes.

Lots are laid out with modules.

One complete module includes one access aisle and the parking it
serves on either side.

Ramp Design Computation

(Straight Ramp)
Computation Process:

1. Draw the diagram

2. Decide if there is a limited space or enough space for ramp
3. Refer data based from the TABULATION
4. Apply the formula for SLOPE
5. Compute for the HEIGHT of the blend (at the approach and at end of
the ramp) using the formula for SLOPE
6. Subtract the height of blends from the LEVEL height of the Parking.
7. Compute for the LENGTH of the RAMP using the formula for SLOPE
8. Add all the BLENDS LENGTH and the RAMP LENGTH

RAMP LENGTH = 2.7 / 0.12 = 22.50 M

TOTAL LENGTH = 22.50 + 2.50 + 2.50 = 27.5 M
