6 STAGES IN
VENTURE
CAPITAL
@career.edge
CAREER EDGE 2/9
PRE-SEED STAGE
This is when you're testing
whether or not
your idea is worth taking to market. VCs are
unlikely to provide funding in exchange for
equity, so you'll need to rely on your
resources and contacts.

SEED STAGE
SERIES-A
STAGE
The stage of a company's development where
you are fine-tuning the product and building
a customer base, increasing marketing and
advertising, and demonstrating consistent
revenue flow, all of which are critical. At this
point, your company should have finished its
business plan and created a pitch deck.

SERIES-B STAGE
Series B funding is the next stage in a business's
development. This is the stage where VC firms fund
the actual manufacturing, marketing, and sales
operations of a product. Series B investors want to
see actual performance as well as evidence of a
commercially viable product or service.

SERIES-C STAGE
When you reach the Series C funding stage,
you're on the road to success. It usually takes
2-3 years to get to this point on a fast track.
Additional funding will allow you to develop
new products, enter new markets, and even
acquire other startups.
