i'm really excited for this time of the 

year because even though the heat has  

completely arrived and it's not 

leaving us anytime soon. for me  

it means it's the time of the year 

in where i can start a slowing down

a time i dedicate to myself to nourish 

and refuelling my body, mind and soul

when i started this garden my goal was to be as 

self-sufficient as i possibly could in terms of  

food and grow as many things as i could in this 

tiny space that i would eat on a daily basis.  

that meant planting a variety of vegetables, 

herbs and ultimately fruit trees that with  

patience and love will produce food 

for us and the generations to come.

green juice is my favorite to drink first 

thing in the morning especially this time  

of the year when temperatures 

are above 40 celsius degrees  

and my main goal of growing most of the 

ingredients is almost there but for now i'm  

able to harvest cucumber, peppermint and aloe 

vera from the garden. The ginger I planted is  

slowly growing and the lemons and apples will soon 

be harvested from our own trees but for now they  

are from our neighbors, who once in a while bring 

us a big bag of fruits from the abundant trees.
