FORMAT FOR PREPARATION OF PROJECT REPORT

1. ORGANISATION OF PROJECT REPORT The final report should be presented in the following sequence:  Title page  Students Declaration (Annexure-I) A statement from the candidate mentioning that the work is a original one and has not been submitted earlier either to this or to any other institution of the requirement of a course of study.  Certificate of the Project Guide as to the originality of work. A Certificate from the organization where the candidate underwent Project Training  Abstract  Acknowledgements  Table of Contents:       List of Tables List of figures List of Appendices List of Symbols, Abbreviations and Nomenclature Chapters Bibliography

 Appendices 2. SPECIFICATIONS OF THE PROJECT REPORT  The length of the summer/capstone project report shall be in between 50 60, 1.5 lines spaced A4 size pages typed on single side (excluding Appendix). The report is to be submitted in a bound volume.  The left margin should not be less than 40 mm and the right margin not less than 20 mm. All pages should be numbered, and numbers should be placed at the centre of the bottom of the page, not less than 10 mm above the edge. It is usual for Page 1 to start with the Introduction. The sections prior to the Introduction are usually numbered with small

Romans, i.e. i, ii, iii. It is easier if appendices are numbered in a separate sequence (A, B, C) rather than as a continuation of the main report.  All tables, figures and appendices should be consecutively numbered, and suitably labeled.  1 hard bound copy & a soft-copy should be handed to your Institute at the time of submission (Remember to print additional copies for yourself and for the organization you have worked at)  Summary SUMMARY should be one page synopsis of the project report typed 1.5 line spacing, Font Style Times New Roman and Font Size 12.  Table of Contents The table of contents should list all material following it as well as any material which precedes it.  List of Tables The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear above the tables in the text. One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing the matter under this head.  List of Figures The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear below the figures in the text. One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing the matter under this head.  List of Symbols, Abbreviations and Nomenclature One and a half spacing should be adopted or typing the matter under this head. Standard symbols, abbreviations etc. should be used.  Chapters The chapters may be broadly divided into i) CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION Introduce the subject matter How significant is the study Objective of the study Limitation to the study (ability to generalize to the population) ii) CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW Past studies in the subject areas that you are researching iii) CHAPTER 3: CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK Theory/concept/framework/model of study

Hypothesis is not recommended iv) CHAPTER 4: METHODOLOGY Data collection method Representativeness / issues of sampling Describe the questionnaires Validity/reliability of the data Plan of work (roughly what you want to do) v) CHAPTER 5: RESEARCH FINDINGS The results of the research, statistical test, findings vi) CHAPTER 6: RECOMMENDATIONS & CONCLUSIONS Management implication? Recommendation to management Conclusion  Bibliography: List the books, articles, websites that are referred and useful for research on the topic of your specific project. Follow Harvard style of referencing. For books: In the references and bibliography sections of the Project report, the referencing to material used from text should appear as follows: The author, year of publication followed by the title of the textbook (in italics), publisher, location of the publisher. For journal articles: In the references and bibliography sections of the Project report, the referencing to material used from journals should appear as follows: The authors name, year of publication followed by the title article, journal name in italics, volume number.
