“Querida Amazonia”
Introducing
Querida Amazonia is a document issued by the pope for the indigenous people
who live in the Amazonian forest area. Pope Francis saw the synods as a chance for a
group judgment where the Holy Spirit works throughout the discussions and debates. It
focuses on rights and justice for those that live inside the forest for many years, where
people outside their area were destroying their natural resources.

These are my contributions based on my activities that may affect the issue negatively
and positively. First is reminding the Filipino culture to the other young adults.
Nowadays, Filipino young adults are now distancing themselves from our culture, and
they adapt to different cultures of different countries. The most commonly adapted are
the Korean Cultures, where different cultures like fast foods, beauty products, music, and
language adapted to this country. Second, I train myself to take care of the environment
by taking care of our backyard’s surroundings. Even though it is only a small
contribution, I am enlightened by the words of the pope as he said the following words,
“The care of people and the care of ecosystems are inseparable.” It means that Do not
only care for the people around you but also the environment too.

To conclude, Amazonians have their rights to be free and not to be terrorized by the
people abusing their power to gain profit from their poorness. Even if I am not directly in
the issue, I believe that just praying for them and helping yourself think about how to
assist the Amazonians are considered helpful. I believe that prayer and love can surpass
the hardships they are facing.
