I’m a Bachelor of law from one of the Law Campuses in Indonesia. I’m completing my degree in
Dec 2019. My Challenge as a Bachelor of law is to get a job and then become a lawyer and also
to get my certificate as a PERADI member in Indonesia, so I can convene to become a lawyer for
my clients. I really enjoy every process that I could take as a Fresh Graduate and really enjoy my
new career as a Lawyer.

I faced a problem in 2021 where I started challenging myself to get another career path outside
the Law. I put myself to get another career and applied to another job opportunity where I can
put myself into. I ended up in one of tech companies in Indonesia and I got an opportunity to
become a Finance & Legal team, and this is the first time I got a job where I don’t get attached
with my Law Background. I am really happy to get this opportunity, but also at the same time I’m
feeling kinda nervous because I have a promise to my parents to pursue another degree in 2021.
My focus is also split into, one is to pursue another degree in Law (LLM degree) and follow my
law Background, or following my current job needs in (MBA program).

Because of this kind of situation and my current work situation, then I compare what my career
growth really wants to look like and also what’s just the needs of my soul. The difference does
not stop in that choice, but also about the tuition that I should pay while I take a postgraduate
degree. I found that the MBA program tuition is 25% higher from the LLM program. The
information that I receive is from the institution itself so I’ll make sure that kind of info is true.
The fact that If I wanna join and still grow in the tech company, I should take another degree to
validate myself that I can be in this environment where I can compete with other business
degrees.

So after considering many aspects and many opportunities that I can get from the postgraduate
program that I will take, I ended up in an MBA program, and the total cost that I need to pay is
like IDR 95.000.000. At the same time I could finally know about other perspectives outside the
law school, and really get extra learning experience from the very various and amazing lecturers
in the MBA program. I really believe that the IDR 95.000.000 that I’ve spent is worth it because I
could experience the program that I’ve never taken before and get an MBA degree from the best
university in Indonesia.

Other than that, I still consider myself to get another degree in the LLM program in the near
future. But I think it’s not my first choice right now, because my career doesn't really need that
right now, even though it could be an interesting program to take too.
