Level 2 Practice writing questions

Use the lesson time to complete these two writing tasks – both taken from previous exams.

Try to do one of them as a timed exercise. That is from your first thoughts about it to finishing
writing, spend only 30 minutes.
Remember, for each task, it is useful to spend five minutes just quickly noting down 3 or 4 ideas that
you can develop into separate paragraphs.
For each task it is important to use the correct format and the correct level of formality. So think
about what you need for an email and what you need for a newspaper article.

1.
You have recently met up with some old school friends and had a great time talking about your time
at school. They all agreed that a reunion of old classmates was a good idea.

Write an email to the headteacher explaining what the event is and asking if the event could be held
at the school itself. Your email should include information on exactly when you would like the event
to be held and likely numbers attending. Outline your plans for the evening.

Write the email to the headteacher Head@school.coz.

getting worse.
