LESSON PLAN IN CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SERVICING

Prepared by: Astrologo, Marnie H.

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of a two hour discussion, the students should be able to:

A. To differentiate the common defects of an electrolytic capacitor.

B. Select the right ranges of an analog multimeter used in testing electrolytic
capacitors.
C. Use an analog multimeter to test an electrolytic capacitor.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

A. Testing Electrolytic Capacitors

III. MATERIALS

A. HAND-OUTS
B. CONSUMER ELECTRONIC SERVICING NCII MODULE 2
C. CARTOLINA (WITH DESIGNS)
D. BROWN ENVELOPES with PICTURES INSIDE
E. ANSWER SHEET
F. MANILA PAPERS
G. TAPE

IV. PROCEDURE

A. MOTIVATION

The teacher will group the students to three and give each group a brown
envelope with pieces of a picture inside and task them to put it together again
within 1 minute. Afterwards, the teacher will ask them what the picture shows.

B. LESSON PROPER

The teacher will introduce the lesson by asking the students what they know
about the capacitor the picture shows. Since they have already discussed it
yesterday, the teacher will move on to the next topic which is testing electrolytic
capacitor using analog multitester.

1
The teacher will then discuss the steps in testing electrolytic capacitor using
analog multimeter while the students take note and answer her questions.

C. GENERALIZATION

The teacher will recap the lesson by asking the students the steps in testing
electrolytic capacitor using analog multimeter.

V. EVALUATION

Get one answer sheet and fill in the box with the correct position of the
meter pointer that indicates a defective or good capacitor in forward and reverse
bias position.
