What do you know about the wildlife in your

country? Who is responsible for its preservation?

Vietnam is one of the countries with high biodiversity of flora and fauna with more
than 11,373 species of higher vascular plants, 2,393 species of lower plants, 337
species and subspecies of mammals, 840 species of birds, 337 species of reptiles,
167 species of amphibians, over 1,028 species of freshwater fish and about 2,500
species of saltwater fish. There are a number of endangered animals in Vietnam
such as elephants, red-crowned cranes, clouded leopards and some others. Animal
Welfare Asia in Vietnam is working hard to protect these rare animals and other
animals from illegal exploitation. But this situation still recurs and will cause the
extinction of some wildlife in Vietnam. Everyone should be aware that any wildlife
species is at risk of extinction in Vietnam as well as worldwide. All animals have
the right to live, so everyone should have a sense of protecting all animals in this
world, including wild animals.
