Lesson Summary and Reflections

I found the class to be quite lucid and informative. The idea of incorporating technology into academic
lesson plans may scare many of us that have aged and must go through a huge learning process. But we
have learned throughout our interactions with other professionals that the process can be fun. The data
proves that more technology in the classroom promotes student achievements. Therefore, the benefits
by far out-weight the learning challenges of the instructors.

Students have a tendency to surf unauthorized websites if allowed. However, a proper classroom
management plan will thwart such behaviors. We have installed programs on teacher computers that
alarm when students go on unauthorized websites. Additionally, students are physically blocked from
going to certain websites. In the management plan, students have to be aware of the disciplinary
ramifications of violating the school’s policies and procedures. I find it is best to review the plan at the
beginning of school, and then review at a minimum of once a quarter.

A good lesson that keeps the students engaged at all times will reduce disciplinary problems and will
increase the academics of students with special needs. I have found that my disciplinary issues have
disappeared. Students are too busy working on their products to cause mischief. Also, the
incorporation of technology speaks to those who have academic challenges. We have an inclusion
teacher in my class. We have found that those special needs student perform just as well as the regular
students as long as the lesson plan is well executed and contains all of the elements. Finally, a well
written lesson plan that incorporates a high degree of technology will increase student achievement,
reduce disciplinary issues, and promote academic pride for special needs students.
