THE DIFFERENCE IN DISINFECTION USING ALCOHOL IS 70% WITH SODIUM HIPROKLORITE 5% AGAINST THE NUMBER OF BACTERIA ON THE GLASS OF THE MOUTH Supervisor (I): drg. Metty Amperawati, M.Kes, Supervisor (II): Hj. Ida Rahmawati, SKM. MPH xiii + 36 pages; 6 tables; 2 figures; 8 appendices
Infection danger is very real in the dental environment, various infections
can be transmitted through dental treatment measures, which come from various viral, bacterial, fungal infections, including hepatitis B and HIV / AIDS. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between disinfection using 70% alcohol and 5% sodium hyprochlorite against the number of bacteria on the glass mouth. This type of research is True Experimental Design (Real experiment), and the research design was carried out with two Group Pre-Post Test Design. The population of this study was the entire number of bacteria on the glass mouth, using purposive sampling techniques . This study used data analysis of the Independent Test T-test sample with an alternative to the Mann Whitney Test . The number of bacteria before being given alcohol disinfection 70% is and 26,844 bacteria se have been given alcohol disinfection 70% is 4,644 while the number of bacteria before being given disinfection of sodium hypochlorite 5% is 61,679 and the number of bacteria se already given disinfection of sodium hypochlorite 5% is 2,934. In conclusion, a more effective method that can be used as disinfection of the glass mouth is sodium hypochlorite 5% compared to alcohol but 70% alcohol disinfection can be used as an alternative disinfection to replace sodium hyoclorite 5%. It is recommended to choose sodium hypochlorite 5% but alkhol 70% can be an alternative substitute as disinfection..
