June 2011 Hello Friends and Family, Our long, dry season finally ended in Colima, Mexico. Tropical storm Beatrize gave us our first full night and day of rain. Now the rain waters our grass leaving us more time on our hands. This begins our rainy season meaning rain showers will visit us almost daily slowly dwindling little by little for four months and then no rain again until next June. Colima provides a beautiful place to live, but the people, like anywhere, need Jesus. Eric continues preaching to a local church and is teaching two classes every week by encouraging new Christians to know and understand the fundamental doctrines of the church as found in the New Testament. They just finished book 1 of 14 subjects of a curriculum graciously donated to us by our friends from Life Challenge in Amarillo, TX. The curriculum has been used by Teen Challenge all over the world. It is great material for new Christians and the first book is called, How Can I Know Im A Christian. A good place to begin. Legacy Alive has been supporting us as we endeavored to get established here in Mexico. Up until now part of our living has been supplied by the organizations means, but we are very happy to announce that now all financial support given by its donors to Legacy Alive can be used for outside ministry projects. Thank you for helping us to make the permanent move from the U.S. to Mexico! We are settled here and we love being here. Please pray for us as we make decisions regarding the education of our children and challenges we face in regards to immigration and travel expenses. Your continued support is appreciated to move forward Uncle Erics Farm has encountered its first opportunity for the working power of God. We need a miracle! We have yet to find a place for this project to make its home. We are standing on the promise of God that states: For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He guards the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints. Proverbs 2:6-8 Because of the costs of printing and shipping from Mexico we have reduced the frequency of our mailed newsletters. We understand the importance of maintaining communication with our supporters. We would like to continue using a mailed newsletter about four times of the year but email one every month. We would like to say a special thanks to our friends in Dawn, TX for helping us with mail and other administrative duties. They needed to pass along the responsibilities to someone else and we have found a willing friend in Lewisville who accepted to help us. Please pray for our friends in Dawn as they have found themselves in some challenging times. We know that God is faithful to hear our prayers of petition on their behalf. We also say thank you to our board of directors who have continued to pray for us, and give us their guidance as the opportunities have arisen. Thank you all who have prayed for us over the years and supported us financially and in encouragement. We read and keep all those little notes that have been sent and when the discouragement tries to come they bring us back around to walk with our heads high and shoulders back. Thank you!!!
