COVID emergency response care

Miss Sapna Kumari (19 years) D/o Beechu of village Himanchal Kheda, Block Sarosi, district
Unnao had attended MMZ Combined Self-care camp during COVID 19 situation. She was very
much disturbed to meet the daily needs of her family and support them. In this tragic phase,
she was not focusing on self-care practice as she and her family were tense about their daily
life.

Mr. Mantsoh, CBR coordinator, NLR, who had a list of participants attending self-care camp,
came out with an innovative idea of planning virtual self-care monitoring. In this, the challenge
was that not all participants were having an android phone. Motivating the patients for the
android phone of some of the participants helped in communicating about the concept and
joining with the help of friends or relatives phone on the said schedule.

The first challenge was to motivate the participants about life coming to normalcy in some time
and to adhere to COVID 19 precaution and prevention. After regular counseling, the
participants were motivated to continue with life and take care of health and continue self-care
practice to prevent further deterioration

She continued the self-care practices and followed the advice and instructions. The result was
she continued her self-care practice at home and now she has improved to a remarkable status.

Meeting the challenges of communication to participant’s arrangement of Android phone,

Counseling on Self Care and COVID 19 related prevention and precautions was a challenge

The smile of miss Sapna made us feel that all challenges which lead to a positive outcome are a
motivation to help the person in need.
