Theology

If in case, you encounter a person who doubts or does not believe on the following truths about God,
how will you convince him/her? How will you justify these truths basing on lessons learned?

1. To know God is possible although He is an infinite and incomprehensible God.

2. That God exists from eternity to eternity
3. That God is both Transcendent and immanent
4. That God is trinity in unity

I. Knowing God

John Chapter 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. 2  He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him,
[a]

and apart from Him  not even one thing came into being that has come into being.
[b]

14
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of
the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

But  as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of
[m]

God, to those who  believe in His name, -John 1:12

[n]

In ancient times God spoke to His people directly through His voice, then He spoke
through His Son Jesus Christ, and until now God speaks to us through His Holy Spirit
that He gave to us to guide us in all truth. Clearly, He wanted Himself to be known by
His people, whoever He reveals Himself to. Although God is infinite and
incomprehensible, He is also Gracious. He had shown to us His Grace by giving His
Son Jesus Christ that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting
life. We can start knowing God by simply believing in His Son Jesus Christ that He
died for our sins, and by accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour. For us to know God
is not only a mere possibility but a clear intention of God himself. He is redeeming us
and part of His redemption is knowing Him. Every word is a message, and a message
is intended to be understood --God is the Word. Every time we hear God’s word, a
seed of faith is planted in us and it continues to grow as we hear and hear the Word
of God and as we apply them to our lives. It is all about believing.
God exists from eternity to eternity

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who  is to [a]

come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8

God is the first and the last, nothing comes before him and nothing will come after. He simply is. No
human mind can fully understand the beginning of God nor can one fully explain it. For our knowledge is
only a small part of His. It is by faith that we believe, as Hebrews 11:1 says, "Faith is the substance of
things hoped for. The evidence of things not seen." Meaning there are things far beyond our human
sight, human knowledge, human touch, and in that lackness we make room for what we call faith.
Where reasoning ends, faith begins.

III. God is both transcendent and immanent

John 8:23 – You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world.

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are
there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there” (Psalm 139:7-8).

"God is God, and God is with us."

God's being is immeasurable, His presence is uncontainable. God's nature is exceedingly far and beyond
from us human beings. We can never be as Holy as He is, as powerful as He is, as intelligent as He is, we
can never be God but He himself is near us. His presence is around us, wherever we go. As much as we
can never be like God, but we can always be with God. He is " Immanuel, God with us".

IV. God is Trinity in Unity

14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be
with you all. (2 Corinthians 13)

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, (Matthew 28:19)

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever
— 17 the Spirit of truth. (John 14)

God is one in three person, Himself as God, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, all considered to be
equal. Although God is in three persons, each is united in one purpose --our salvation. God sent His Son
to save us, Jesus Christ died for us to redeem us, and Jesus Christ resurrected in Heaven so that we may
receive the Holy Spirit who is the assurance of our salvation in Christ Jesus. They work in unity, and do
not contradicts one another. Three in One. Though we can never fully explain this truth, it is clear to us
that we are love by God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit.
