MOOT PROBLEM1
Bindustan is a large country with over 1.3 Billion population. Ghajni Kant, a resident of Limat Nadu, is
a famous celebrity with over 500 films to his credit. The Laws of Bindustan and India are in pari
materia.

Ghajni Kant is a well acclaimed Film Actor, who goes to extreme depths in making movies so
picturesque that leaves the audience mesmerised. His movie “Yuvraj of Punjab”, based on a warrior
who mastered his arts of swordsmanship. The movie revolves around a family feud, duels with fellow
warriors, and conquering a neighbouring kingdom Jaipur to marry the daughter of the King of Jaipur,
and also reclaim his motherland. This movie received several accolades and honors at the Tin Cann
Film Festival.

Ghajni Kant had assigned all rights in “Yuvraj of Punjab” to Mr. Seela Lansali, a critically acclaimed
Producer across Bindustan, who has the business of acquiring rights over several leading movies and
films, for the purposes of remake or adaptation.

WaterSpark Games Private Limited is a prominent gaming company, where Ghajni Kant is a minority
shareholder. WaterSpark Games Private Limited developed a Game “Pharoah of Egypt” based out in
eastern Egypt, where a Warrior, ousted by his Step-Brother seeks to conquer the Kingdom of Learsi,
so that he can wage a war against his Step-Brother and become the Pharoah of Egypt. Based out in
Learsi, the game had multiple stages, where from being a Novice, the warrior learns various skills, and
develops his strength and agility, while earning reward points and different swords, and rising ranks
in the Learsi Army Regiment.

Seela Lansali, who has the rights to the movie Yuvraj of Punjab, comes to know about the video game
and seeks to file a case for Infringement of his Copyrights in the movie, “Yuvraj of Punjab”. The Trial

Court at Limat Nadu held that the rights of Seela Lansali were infringed by WaterSpark Games Private
Limited and Ghajni Kant.
As such Ghajni Kant, seeks to approach the Hon’ble Supreme Court under Article 136 of the
Constitution of Bindustan, with the following questions*:
1. Whether the Petition is maintainable?
2. Whether WaterSpark Games Private Limited and Ghajni Kant have infringed the rights of Seela
Lansali?
The Supreme Court has accepted to hold the Hearing on Admission and on Merits on DD/MM/YYYY.
