Astrology

What is called astrology today is a faint shadow of what it was in ancient times. The reason is simple:
things have moved in the heavens. The movement is due to the Procession of the Equinox discovered
by Plato many years ago. The result of this movement is that things happening in the heavens today
will not happen again for 25,920 years.

Those versed in Astrology will claim that there are two aspects at work here: The “real” zodiac as it
appears in the sky tonight, and the "intellectual" zodiac which is the basis for the interpretation of
the heavens. Unfortunately, this view prevents the growth of the art!

For example, if I were say to such a person, "I'm a Leo," they would respond with wonderful ideas
concerning my brave nature and my gift for theatrics, etc. But if I were to ask them, "Will you please
show me the constellation in the skies?" I would probably be met with a blank stare, or possibly a
response like," I can show you the big dipper. I know what that looks like, but I'm not certain of the
real shape and place of the constellation of Leo." Such statements separate the true followers of
Sacred Astronomy from the rest.

If we were to go to a surgeon and ask for an appendix operation, we would expect him to know where
the procedure should take place within our body. The Astrologer should know the actual heavens for
whom he or she purports to interpret. That study requires some effort and time observing the skies
and recording what one witnesses. This places them in the company of the ancient
astronomer/astrologers, such as Newton, himself.

It is one thing to read and learn concerning a subject; it is an entirely different matter to base one’s
knowledge on the reality as we find it at present. Now, if this were to be done, corrections would be
made, and the Art would again be based on the skies we know; and the whole thing would be
enhanced. The "Intellectual" zodiac would be replaced, once again, by the actual zodiac.

At least that is how it seems to me.
