1. Introduce vocabulary by showing flashcards.


Pre-lesson 2. Do the actions: Show flashcards one at a time. Pupils do the corresponding actions.
3. You could vary the speed to make this game more interesting.
4. Activity 1:
a. Give each pupil a piece of A4 paper and ask pupils to trace their hands.
b. Pupils think of all the things that they can do with their hands/fingers and write them inside the outline
of the hand.
c. Example: clap, eat, carry, touch, pat
d. Put up the poem ‘Clap Your Hands’ on the board.
e. Recite the poem while the pupils listen.
Lesson delivery f. Pupils recite the poem together with actions.
5. Activity 2:
a. Distribute peer-assessment checklist to pupils.
b. Demonstrate to the pupils how to present the poem in their own style (for example, jazz chant, rap,
dikir barat, etc).
c. Pupils get into groups.
d. In their groups, they prepare their presentation.
e. The pupils present their poems to the class. (Assessment)
6. Ask pupils to give a few imperative verbs from the poem.
Post lesson 7. Encourage pupils to give other imperative verbs that they know.
8. Write pupils’ responses on the board to create a circle map.
