Course Description

Course Introduction
This course is applicable to product version IMS V500R021C00.
As the Huawei MRFC&MRFP hands-on guide, this course consists of four parts:
guide to configuring the MRFC&MRFP hardware data and local office data, guide
to configuring the MRFC&MRFP interconnection data, guide to configuring the
MRFC&MRFP service feature data, and guide to operating and maintaining the
MRFC&MRFP.

Objectives
After completing this course, you will be able to:
 Describe how to configure MRFC&MRFP data.
 Understand and configure the key command parameters by configuring or
querying MRFC&MRFP hardware data, local office data, interconnection
data, and feature data.
 Properly interconnect MRFC&MRFP and other NEs by configuring
MRFC&MRFP interconnection data.
 Complete the feature functions by configuring MRFC&MRFP feature data.

6.3 Task2 MRFC Tracing Tool Operation

Open the MRFC signaling trace tool when interconnecting with the MRFP
(MRFP tracing tool operation is similar with MRFC, so will not be introduced here)

1 Create an MRFC SIP message trace task in the CSCF signaling trace tool. The traced IP
address is the IP address of the MRFC. This IP address can be obtained by running LST
MADDR on the CSCF operation interface. This IP address is optional. The following
figure shows the SIP message trace selection.

After get the tracing message, then you check the message content and find the media
stream control related parameter.

30
Confidential Information of Huawei. No Spreading without Permission
MRFC&MRFP Practice Guide ISSUE9.00

2 Create an MRFC H248 message trace task in the CSCF signaling trace tool. The traced
media gateway flag is the flag of the MRFP. This flag can be obtained by running LST
MGW on the CSCF operation interface. The following figure shows the H248 message
trace selection.

To trace the signaling between the MRFP whose media gateway flag is 0 and the MRFC,
set the information as shown in the following figure:

After get the tracing message, and then check the message content and find the media
stream related parameter.

6.4 Task3: Check the tone file name transfer in the message
i. Implement a service in which the MRFC/MRFP is involved
ATS: Do not disturb, for instance
Other AS (simulator): Your instructor will help you to configure the simulated AS

ii. Make a service call (Do not disturb) then trace the session in SIP interface
of MRFC, and then check the tone file name in the INFO message from the
AS to the MRFC.
What is the tone file name? Where is it contained in?
For instance:

iii. Make a service call (Wrong Number) then trace the session in H248
interface of MRFC, and then check the related MOD_REQ message in the
H248 message
What is the tone file name? Where is it ?
For instance:

 The data plan of MRFP is just list the key parameter, the other parameter you can judge and assign
by yourself upon you learning knowledge.
 Group policy:
