Does School Prepare Us for Life?

The school days are jam-packed with data and numbers, spanning disciplines ranging from English to
Mathematics. All of these need that pupil’s study, memorise, comprehend, and be examined. Aside
from grades and exams, the school offers a broader curriculum that includes character development,
citizenship training, and personality development. Indeed, I believe that education prepares us for
life.

First and foremost, the school teaches us self-discipline. We learn to stick to a schedule and stick to
the timetable. We also learn to value time and to be on schedule. Furthermore, we are taught to
organise and manage our time properly. We also follow and respect the norms and regulations.
Disciplined pupils will grow up to be disciplined adults who will succeed in their future endeavours.

The school also helps to strengthen our resolve and tenacity. We learn how to meet the rigours of
school. We also learn to fulfil deadlines and turn in assignments on time. Furthermore, we learn to
deal with stress and pressure. Students learn to overcome obstacles in school. Students with
character strength will be better prepared to meet the demands of job and life in the future.

Co-curricular activities are an essential element of a student's life. They help to shape pupils'
character and personalities so that they may learn to be self-assured. They aid in the development of
leadership skills in pupils. Students learn to collaborate and collaborate with others. They also learn
to cherish desirable qualities such as esprit de corps. Students learn to contribute productively and
to put their best foot forward, as well as to accept success and failure. We, as students, learn to
value sportsmanship and fair play. Students gain loyalty, dedication, and responsibility through co-
curricular activities. When they grow up, they will be able to work successfully as part of a team and
will be dedicated to serious work.

The school functions as a micro-society. Everyday social interactions are a wonderful preparation for
living in society. Pupils have the opportunity to engage with students from all backgrounds, creeds,
and races at school. They acquire tolerance, acceptance, and understanding indirectly. The kids can
also work and socialise with one another. This can aid in the development of an open mind and the
promotion of togetherness.

When we hear the term "school," we immediately think of grades and exams. Students do spend a
significant amount of time and energy studying for and sitting for exams. They also acquire a number
of qualifications, as well as information and abilities. They are important because they serve as
stepping stones and the basis for the future. They can assist students in obtaining a decent job and a
successful career.
In short, school does prepare us for life. It helps to nurture and to build strong character in
ourselves. School also prepares students with the necessary ‘tool’ so that students can fit into
society and contribute positively to the nation and people in future.
