Big Ben is the national symbol of Great Britain.

It is a clock on the tower of the Palace of Westminster in London. Namely, it is a bell in the
clock. The designer of the tower is English architect August Pugin. He designed it in 1858. It
weights 13.5 tons and it is 318 feet high. Big Ben is one of the famous buildings of the UK.

Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London. It was opened in 1894.
The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become an iconic
symbol of London. Total length of the bridge is 244 metres.
Buckingham Palace finally became the principal royal residence in 1837, on the accession
of Queen Victoria, who was the first monarch to reside there; her predecessor William IV had
died before its completion.
Every year, over 50,000 invited guests are entertained at garden parties, receptions, and
banquets. Garden parties are held in the summer, usually in July.
The forecourt of Buckingham Palace is used for Changing of the Guard, a major ceremony and
tourist attraction (daily from April to July; every other day in other months).
