SATISFACTION AMONG SCHOOL TEACHERS IN ERODE

Abstract:
This study aimed to examine the effect of work-family conflict and family-work conflict on job
and life satisfaction of school teachers. The data were obtained from 200 respondents which
includes male and female school teachers both in private and government schools in Erode. We
have made organization support, family support, job stress, working hours, job involvement,
financial situation, and partners working hours condition as the independent variables and
organization commitment, employee commitment, job and work satisfaction as the dependent
variables. The data was analyzed using SPSS. In this study, two dimensions of work life conflict
were used to check relationship with job satisfaction. Those two dimensions are: Work to Family
conflict and Family to Work conflict. According to the results of the study, job satisfaction
average of teachers is good and life satisfaction of teachers is moderate. Further, it revealed that
job satisfaction and life satisfaction of an teachers get affected due to the imbalance between
his/her work and non-work responsibilities.
