Future tense and clauses with when, if, after, before.

A connective preposition may also add a clause with a future tense verb expression
such as will or [be] going to. However, the verb in the clause following the
connective preposition does not change tense. It remains in present tense form.

Examples:

We will watch a movie after he arrives.

We are going to make popcorn before he arrives.
