“Scientistic Authoritarianism”
Dr. Aaron Kheriaty used to be the director of the Medical Ethics Program at the
University of California until he was fired for questioning the ethics of vaccine
mandates. He says we’re experiencing “a kind of ‘scientistic authoritarianism,’”
where certain people try to “don a mantel of the all-knowing interpreter of
science.”
He calls it “charlatanism” because real scientists don’t talk like that. Real
scientists doing real science have hypotheses, make conjectures, and argue
endlessly. Science is a messy, cumulative process, he says, of many
experiments, overturned orthodoxies, and paradigm shifts. Real scientists have
intellectual humility, and they don’t shut down dissenting voices. Given his
description, Dr. Fauci is not a real scientist. Not even close.
