Space X
Is a private American aerospace manufacturer and space
transportation services company headquartered in Hawthorne,
California. It was founded in 2002 by Elon Musk with the goal of
reducing space transportation costs to enable the colonization of
Mars.SpaceX has developed several launch vehicles and
the Dragon spacecraft.

It will mark the first time in history that a

commercial aerospace company has carried
humans into Earth's orbit.

THERE'S STILL MORE

Along with NASA, this mission will take

astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley to
the International Space Station. It is the first
time in 9 years that NASA has sent astronauts
into space.

2011

NASA and space fans have waited nearly a

decade for this milestone. The United States
hasn't launched its own astronauts into space
since the shuttle program ended in 2011.

History

This mission begins the era of private space travel,

which does not depend on any government,
perhaps in the future it will be a very common
activity.
