The cicada and the ant

The cicada was happy enjoying the summer time: the sun
was shining, the flowers smelled good and the cicada was
singing and singing. While her friend and neighbor, a Little
ant, was all the day working and collecting aliments.

Ant friend! Aren´t you tired to be working? Rest a

moment with me while I sing something for you. – said the
cicada to the ant.

Better you done to collect your aliments for the Winter

time and trying to don´t be lazy.- Answer the ant, while
she was hasty collecting the grains.

The cicada continue smiling and singing trying to don´t pay

attention to the ant, her friend.

Until one day, when she woke up, she felt the intense cold
of the Winter. The trees had lost their leaves and
snowflakes were falling from the heaven, while the cicada
wandered accross the field, feeling cold and hungry. She
saw in the distance the house of her friend and neighbor
the ant, and she approached to ask for help.
-Ant friend, I´m cold and hungry, won´t you give me
something to eat? You have plenty of food and a warm
house, while I have nothing.

The ant opened the door of her house a crack and said to
the cicada.

-Tell me cicada friend, What were you doing while I got up

early to work? What were you doing while I was carrying
grains of wheat from here to there?

I was singing and singing under the sun.- answered the

cicada.

Is that what you did? Well, now, if you sang in the summer,
now dance during the Winter.

And she closed the door, leaving out the cicada who had
learned the lesson.

Moral: Who wants to have a good Winter, while is Young,

should take advantage of the time.
