Spotlight on Security
They start off by talking about the security of your hotel might be different in certain
locations like for New York City they might have to worry more about terrorist attacks or bank
robberies. Louisiana can be affected by a hurricane. Your property, employees, guest is under
your securities. When a terrorist cannot attack their main attack, they go for an easier location for
example hotels. But even with that their chances of being attack is still low. But even though it is
a low result there should still be high security for all hotels and list a contact to back up the
hotels. You can have security a lot of ways beside a person staying watch. By having cameras,
tall bright lights in the parking lots, tall fences. Evening making sure that you employees are
aware of certain behaviors and not there looks. Making sure to bring other employees or
managers aware of that person. They say that no room in the hotel should not be observed within
24 hours and to make sure that u write down notes.
If you are working and do not know a guest simply ask them if they need any help. It they
do not belong they will leave quickly since they know you will remember their face. But make
sure you contact the manger and let them know just for back up. If you are a housekeeper and
find a gun inside of a room while cleaning make sure to call the manager and let them know and
quickly leave, your safety is the most important. Make sure to take care of a situation and if you
cannot understand or handle the problem give the phone to someone who can. Make sure to call
the police and notify them on the problem, this can also be evidence for if they guest tries to file
a lawsuit of any kind. Make sure to not give any information to the press on the situation let
your manager do that. These are all a part of your security plan which should be regular updated
as the years go on.
