English Literature, St. John’s College, Palayamkottai Abstract ‘As a matter of fact it is true to the world that the teachers are no longer the sole imparters of knowledge but they need to empower the students to learn at pace and at their leisure through personal learning networks keeping their special traits of talents and interests. The innovative educator has to evolve a personal eaming network for his or her improvement first. ICT has been introduced by replacing the term ‘computer programming’ in the curriculum to the effect of National Curriculum. The ICT plays a vital role in communication information especially in education. The use of ICT is unbeatable in the teaching learning process. It assists teachers to deliver their communication easily. Not only this, it has to reach to the students as well where in there is no boundary of limitation in a big way. All around the world, a new kind of educational model is taking tentative steps towards the mainstream. This model is far better suited to provide the knowledge and skills that students will need to succeed in a new global economy than the traditional model still practiced in most schools.
