16 Read the text. Are the sentences true or false? Correct the false sentences.

My favourite book is The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. It tells the story of

what happened before The Lord of the Rings. The main character is Bilbo
Baggins and the story is about his adventures and how he found the
famous ring.

Tolkien was born in 1892 and died in 1973 at the age of 81. He was a
university Professor but he loved telling stories, especially to his four
children. He wrote The Hobbit for them. It was his first book. He finished
The Lord of the Rings 12 years later.

There is going to be a film of The Hobbit soon. The Mexican film director,
Guillermo del Toro, is going to film it in New Zealand, where they filmed
The Lord of the Rings. The actor Ian McKellen is going to be Gandalf
again, and Andy Serkis is going to be Gollum, just like The Lord of the
Rings. I can’t wait to see it!
