2. Why does a profession like teaching take long years of initial professional education and
continuing professional development after these long arduous years of initial professional
education?
Because teaching requires not only initial professional education, but also continuing
professional development. After one begins professional practice, he or she needs to
improve his or her knowledge and skills. These are done through master’s and doctorate
degree or seminars and conventions. Continuing professional development not only helps
one renew his or her professional license, but also encourages one to be more up-to-date,
well-informed, and self-regulated. In fact, it helps one improve and stay on top of his or
her profession.

3. ACROSTIC – PROFESSIONAL
What are the elements of a profession?
P – Perseverance – We should strive and continue with our goals.
R – Responsibility – We should be accountable to everyone: primarily the students,
employees, and other stakeholders.
O – Obedience – We need to adhere to the rules and ethics of our profession.
F – Fearlessness – We should have the courage to perform our tasks and even beyond
what is required of us.
E – Ethicality – We should conduct ourselves in an ethical and moral manner.
S – Sensibility – We should be practical when planning and performing a task, and we
should be able to evaluate sensibly.
S – Selflessness – We should have the ablity of think of others first.
I – Innovation – We have to be creative and think outside the box.
O – Optimism – We should able to think and act positively, despite hurdles.
N – Nobility – We should be decent and virtuous, and perfect examples of our profession.
We should also be above reproach.
A – Adaptability – We should be able to respond and adjust to various changes in the
environment, and in our job.
L – Loyalty – We should have faith in and be true to ourselves and our profession.
