Measures:
Outcome Evaluation Methods [PRE & POST]
 Quality of Life
o Quality of Life scale (QOL)
 Bonding/Attachment With Mother (Can use either one of the measurements depending on
your preference)
o Postpartum Bonding Questionnaire (PBQ)
o Parent to infant attachment questionnaire (PAQ)
 Health Status
o Physical health (Mother and child)
 Medical chart or self-report
o Emotional health
 Edinburgh postnatal depression scale or CES-D
 GAD-7
o Cognitive functioning in child
 Can use check-up notes if we want to include this as a measurement

 Environmental Factors
o Did the space where sessions were held provide a safe environmental space to
discuss experiences, concerns, or opinions? Please explain.
o Did the people who conducted the sessions create a safe environment to discuss
experiences, concerns, or opinions? Please explain.
o Did the programming provide a safe environment to discuss experiences,
concerns, or opinions? Please explain.
 Behavioral Factors
o Assess number of times they use the babywearing devices per week
o Assess when do they use the babywearing device
 i.e. only when the child is upset etc.
o Assess barriers to wearing the device
 Predisposing Factors (knowledge/attitudes, beliefs, perceptions)
o Assess awareness/knowledge of benefits of babywearing
o Assess attitudes towards babywearing
o Knowledge of safe parenting techniques
 Reinforcing Factors (people w/ influence)
o Do those in their social group (family, friends) support or are unsupportive of
these new techniques and the use of the device
 Enabling Factors (skills, access, and resources)
o Confidence in how to wear/use the device
o Application of skills on safe parenting techniques

 Central to women in the area possibly once we have gathered our sample we could ask
them what a central location could be

 Low-income women
 Anyone who has been having difficulty with attachment with their child whether that be
emotionally or breastfeeding
 Women at WFM or in the greater Waco area?
