GEOMETRICAL CONSTRUCTIONS (SHEET NO.

3)
1. Construct a pentagon of side = 70mm and inscribe five equal
circles such that each circle touches one side of the pentagon
and two other circles.

2. Construct a pentagon of side = 70mm and inscribe five equal

circles such that each circle touches two sides of the pentagon
and two other circles.

3. Construct a pentagon of side = 30mm and describe five equal

circles such that each circle touches one side of the pentagon
and two other circles.

4. Inscribe five equal circles in a circle of diameter = 100 such that

each circle touches the given circle and two other circles.

5. Inscribe a pentagon inside a circle of radius = 45mm. (using

general method)

6. Construct a pentagon and a heptagon/septagon by General

method sharing a common base = 35mm on the same side.

7. Draw a tangent to a point A on the circumference of a given

circle of radius = 25mm as shown in the figure.

8. Draw a tangent to a given circle from point A as shown in the

figure.

9. Draw an External common tangent (D.C.T.) to two equal circles

of 50mm diameter being their centres 100mm apart.

1
(D.C.T. = Direct Common Tangent)

10. Draw an Internal common tangent (T.C.T.) to two equal circles

of 50mm diameter being their centres 100mm apart.
(T.C.T. = Transverse Common Tangent)
