REACTION PAPER ON THE ISSUES OF K-12 IMPLEMENTATION

K-12 has been a game changer for all students included in this new curriculum.
Where in fact, the class of 2022 graduates were the first product of new implemented
curriculum in education system. As an educator whose currently teaching k-12
curriculum, I have observed that they are already expose to some topics that are
supposedly be taken in their first year of college, as what in the old curriculum is. But
now it is more specific and specialize to be more inclined in their chosen strand that will
enhance their learning as well as to be ready for it gives them a hint or insight on what
course should they choose in college. This proves that the new curriculum is doing what
it thought it is capable of doing. It is to train, educate, and expose secondary students
more in preparation for the tertiary education.

Additional to that, K-12 opens many more doors for students compared to the old
curriculum as it strengthens the mindset and credibility of the students in preparation for
the college environment. It also offers a higher percentage of the student being hired in
a job because their proof of undergoing k-12 before college means that they're more
privileged. Furthermore, the goal of this curriculum is to give Filipino students enough
time to masters skills and concept so that they are ready for tertiary education when the
time comes. Also, this k-12 program aims to provide every Filipino child with the
education she needs to compete globally.

Despite all the problems found as a result of the implementation of this new
curriculum, many had believed that the long-term effects of the K to 12 program were
very beneficial to all Filipino graduates. Therefore, support and encouragement for the
betterment of the new educational system implemented by the government be shown by
all Filipinos. By investing more time and resources to education, national growth and
development can truly be achieved.
