Front axle, installing

Sling, 6 m, 2 pcs.
Torque amplifier

1. Position the axle in the correct position under the machine.


Connect lifting tool 9998547 and 2 slings to the axle.
Axle weight: approx. 1050kg (2315 lbs)

2. Lift up the axle and secure the axle with a jack to prevent it from rotating when lifting.
Fit the retainer bolts.
Tightening torque: 800 Nm (590 lbf ft)

3. Fit the propeller shaft to the front axle.


Use 9993741 to tighten the bolts.
Tightening torque: 115 Nm (85 lbf ft)

4. Tighten down the bolts for the back-up bearing.

5. Fit the electrical cabling and the hoses for the differential lock and brake as well as the breather hose for the
axle. Fit the cabling for the temperature sensor.

6. Fill oil in the front axle.


Oil volume: approx. 36 litres (9.5 US gal)
7. Fit the front part of the fender wideners (optional equipment).

8. Fit the front wheels.


Tightening torque: 600 Nm (440 lbf ft)

Run up the lift arms and remove the support before the front wheels are lowered to avoid damaging the support
or boom.

Lower the front wheels to the ground.
