Why do trend spotters follow a process?

A trend spotter must follow a process to create a trend because it is similar to a

researcher in that they must ensure that the trend they are spotting is accurate,
helpful, and will not harm anyone, the trend spotters also allowing us to see
trends before they happen and get ahead of your competitors by seizing
opportunities before others. To be able to label anything a trend, it must have
more foundation and processes before it shows and spreads in our society.
