REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

The review of the literature of this study focuses in ideas and technologies used to

describe this voting system that are being used globally, electronic voting system is being

discussed, its potential and effectiveness, on how it works. The chapter begins with the related

literatures consisting information about voting system, Local Area Network and Database

Management System; followed by the related studies about the Automated LAN-based Voting

System.

RELATED LITERATURE

Voting System

Electronic voting system (EVS) is a computerized election process. It is where

students/people used specialized computer to vote their perspective candidate instead of

pursuing the traditional voting system which is usually ballot boxes where people cast their

votes by way of writing on the ballot. The process of Electronic Voting System provides more

efficiency, proficiency, reliability and effectiveness than the conventional way of voting. This

system can give reliable results in just certain days than of the secret balloting where it will

take not within days but weeks on sometimes even months before the result that could be

presented to the public.

Electronic Voting system has the greatest potential for making the elections more

convenient and accessible, it also present major concerns of the verifiability and security of the

votes and its results.

The implementation of this system will be a big help of different schools. It simply

satisfies of every school in promoting this system as a powerful tool for the Election processing

in today’s generation needs.
