Abstract

Early marriage is a worldwide problem associated with a range of health and social
consequences for teenage girls. Designing effective health interventions for managing early
marriage needs to apply the community-based approaches. The current study aimed to explore
determinants of early marriage from married girls’ perspectives. In this study, an attempt is
made to analyze Comprehensively early marriage and conception of women based on findings of
interviews conducted with 105 ever-married women from five slum areas under meherpur city,
Bangladesh. The present study has tried to delineate these issues across different socio-economic
conditions of the respondents. Thus, this present study will try to find out not only the socio
demographic but also the economic factors of early marriage in Bangladesh.
