Color Wheel. The color whee! is a means of organizing the colors inte spectrum, The only colors not it

Colors are divided into groups

paint tray, a paper plate to be used for mixing colors,
paint brush, water in a margarine bowl, newspaper to cover your
work area, a paper towel fo Keep your hands clean, red, yellow fe

READ ALL DIRECTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING!
Directions:
1) Sign your name and class number to the lower right
hand corner of the paper.
2) Pour a small amount of red,, blue and, yellow tempera
paint into your mixing fray. Leave emply spaces
between the paints so your colors don't get improperly
mixed,
3) You will be filing in the color wheel as marked... Start
by painting the primary colors of red, yellow and blue
into their spaces. BE SURE TO RINSE AND DRY
YOUR. BRUSH BEFORE DIPPING IT INTO A NEW
COLOR!
4) Transfer a dab of each of the primary colors onto the
paint palette (the paper plate). By doing this you will
always have pure primary colors to draw from,

colors io create the secondary colors of orange, green,

and black (to create shades) to pare, intense color.
Fold a 12°x 18" paper in half thee times 90 you have eight rows.

Staring wit the black & white dip the tp of your brush int the black an mix &
tiny amount of black into the white so you now have alight gray. Punt one
brushstroke of that color atthe top ofthe gray row. Continue addr tiny amounts
of black to the white aint and painting a brush stroke onto the paper so by the
time you have moved tothe bottom ofthe row you should have avery dark gray
1. Now move to the red row. Paint pure red in the middle section ofthat row. Rinse
your brush. Move a small amount of white psint over by the red. Mix a TINY.
_amountof red onto the white to make very light pink and paint one stroke ofthis
value onto the top ofthe red row. Continue mixing and painting tits until you
reach the pure color you painted in the middle ofthe row. Now rise your brush
and start adding TINY amounts of black to your red tnt and continue on to the
bottom ofthe ow.
