1-Direct - Coupled Bjt Amplifier.
i] Advantages :

1-Direct coupled amplifier can amplify very low

frequency signals down to zero frequency.

2-the circuit cost is low because the absence

of expensive coupling components.

3-the direct coupled amplifier has a excellent

frequency response .

4-The circuit is very simple because it uses a

minimum number of resistance

ii] Disadvantage :

1-At low frequency capacitors fail and act like a

short circuit .

2-The output changes with the time and

change in supply voltage.
3-the direct coupled amplifier can not amplify
high frequency signals.

4-it has poor temperature stability.

2- RC -COUPLED BJT AMPLIFIER.

i] Advantages :

1-it used resistor and the capacitor which are

not expensive so that cost is low.

2-the circuit is very compact and extremely

light.

3-The frequency response of RC coupled

amplifiers is excellent .

4-it offers a constant gain over a wide

frequency Band.

ii] Disadvantage :

1-it has low voltage and power gain.

2-it’s unsuitable for low frequency application.

3- it has poor impedance matching because it’s
output impedance is several times larger than
the device .

4-it has a tendency to become noisy with time.

5-it has narrow band width.

3-Transformer coupling.
i]Advantages :

1-The transformer coupled amplifier provide a

higher voltage gain then that RC coupled amplifier.

2-There is loss of signal power in the collecter or

base resistors because the Dc resistor of the
primary winding is very low.

3-it gives an excellent impedance matching

between the stages.

ii] Disadvantages :

1-it has poor frequency response.

2-it introduces frequency distortion when used at

radio frequency.
3-the coupling transformer is expensive bulky and
large when used at audio frequency.

4-the transformer introduces losses in the form of

copper loss, eddy current loss and hysteresis loss
at high frequency.
