What information does Dr Fox need to make a sound decision on
buying CEREC3? Why?
Mr. fox needs to consider: 1. Whether the claim made by the sales representative is accurate and whether the machine is actually capable of delivering the crown on the same day. If the machine fails to do so, then the whole point of getting an in house machine would be redundant. 2. The maintenance and operating cost of the machine: It was mentioned by the sales representative that $25 worth of porcelain would be used in making one crown, but the electricity consumption, maintenance charges, how many times in a year it has to be serviced, all this was not mentioned by him. Mr. Fox needs to determine the overall cost of producing one crown. 3. After he purchased the CEREC3 machine, other dentists of the federation would have to pay more to the person currently supplying them crowns, because they were enjoying bulk order discounts as a federation. Mr. Fox would have to consider the effect it will have on the organization as a whole and its unity. 4. He can take feedback from other users regarding the machine. 5. He can research if any company is bringing a better and cost effective technology in the market.
