Euthanasia, often known as "mercy killing," has long been a topic of discussion in moral, intellectual,

legal, religious, cultural, and sociological circles. The "slippery slope" argument is one of many strong

opinions on euthanasia that are prevalent today. The latter cautions that any underlying ethical

concept, even those supporting euthanasia, may be misrepresented. Cultural, individual, political,

and religious attitudes have the biggest impact on academics' opinions on euthanasia. The idea of

legalizing euthanasia has sometimes come up in South Africa, but it wasn't until recently that it
