Relationship between technology and law: adapt to the new trends.

***

Historically law has been one of the oldest and more powerful professions in the
world, for this reason, it occasionally has refused to change it is traditional ways of
working. However, with the arrival of the news technologies allowing access to the
Internet and enabling any topic knowledge, some different areas of law have been
implemented to adapt to the world and achieve the law is a good tool to regulate
human relations in society. On this matter, this essay will talk about the relationship
between law and technology, moreover the new trends this brings to the
profession.

First, it is necessary to define that Law is the social science in charge of making
the rules that organize a state and preserve its public order, basically, the central
axis for the perfect functioning of the relationship between the inhabitants of the
state, the reason it is important that laws advance according to changes in the
society. It is like that, such as arise important integration compensates for certain
disabilities or increases the natural capacities of individuals. An example is a
relationship between technology and law where accelerated advances in the field
of genomics, robotics, artificial intelligence, and nanotechnology are taking into
account social and developing new trends as cyborgs or applications that solve
conflicts (Cendra, 2019).

In another hand, this relationship additionally developing a series of benefits in

creating and manage instruments that allow expeditiously access to justice or to
know the results of future legal processes, some of these called legal tech or virtual
law offices. The above due that in the twenty-first century lawyers aim to
economize time, send information, and communicate in more efficient ways,
therefore, it is almost impossible not to find technology as a tool that allows people
to decrease distances and maximize efficiency at their jobs (Camelo, 2019).

The Legaltech industry according to Forbes for the year 2018 had grown 713%
compared to the previous year in the United States, with companies valued at
more than 50 million dollars (Pivovarov, 2018). This shows that this trend has
become a global trend of innovation for the legal industry, facilitating the provision
of services, connecting clients with lawyers, allowing financing of legal processes,
promoting the use of technologies within law firms, providing security, legal to
documents signed remotely, among many other features; modernizing the exercise
of law and becoming popular to become a lucrative industry present all over the
planet.

Now, despite the above, it is known that having easy access to the Internet for
society develops new behaviors, some not so good, which often leads them to
commit criminal activities, so that computer crimes arise where the information of
people is exposed and can be victims of hacking or fraud. That is why the United
Nations (UN, 2020) has insisted that it is necessary to promote more severe
security policies in technological development, since society depends to a large
extent on it.

For this reason, among the necessary measures for training or safe development
of technology, it is important to encourage the incorporation of security aspects
from its conception, in addition to mitigating existing vulnerabilities, and ensuring
protected, well-configured and managed systems. It should be noted that this
security is not only of a technological nature, but also implies the ability to create
and maintain quality, truthful and reliable information (Saarenpää, Amoroso
Fernandez, & Reyes olmedo, 2020).

With all the above, we can see that the relationship between technology and law
presents a lot of benefits to the discipline because the automation of tasks has
transformed production and management systems, as it has also done in the
preparation, storage, access, and dissemination of data, and finally increased
impresario investment. In that sense, technology does not result in a disadvantage
for discipline but as a tool to adapt to the demands of reality, challenging the law to
break the status quo.
