Reflection 1

A very unfortunate event occurred on 25th of may 2020. A police officer in Minneapolis
brutally choked to death with his knee an unarmed black man, called George Floyd. since
then different communities took action against racial discrimination. Black lives matter
activists from all around the world protests against racism. one year and a half after the
event the people did not forget. I wanted to further learn about how this incident had
impacted the whole community and I decided to use it as my EE topic. One day listening to
music randomly on my playlist a protest song of H.E.R. named “I can't breathe” popped out.
I immediately after listening to it I wanted to know to what extent this kind of songs can
impact the heated situation in the US. I research and found three other songs and decided
that this will be my EE research question: “To what extent the songs “I can't breathe", “black
like me”,” stones”, “I just wanna live” have reflected on police brutality against black people
in the USA.

Reflection 2

during my summer vacation my had in my mind the fame all the time simply because I was
listening to this kind of music very often I did some research regarding that that performed
these songs and I found out very interesting things about their background their childhood
and generally about their lives. after some days I decided to make a change instead of
“stones” I picked" sweeter" because I think that the new song could represent my thoughts
easier. I was positive about my extended essay because I was on time according to my time
schedule and I had chosen the topic I like.

some other activities in version of life problems made me to get behind my time schedule. it
was quite hard for me to connect and find similarities on the songs. lady said I did through
was according to plan. so even though in the beginning I had my security about the research
part. now I feel like I did good work.
